The organisers of this year's Advanced Automotive Electronics event 'aae2011' have announced a collection of high quality and informative presentations that will discuss the latest technology being applied to vehicle design.
One such presentation will be "Automotive Infotainment and Advanced Driver Assist" presented by Chief Inspector Mick Trosh, a member of the Association of Chief Police Officers Intelligent Transport Systems, Working Group. This presentation will discuss The One Box Concept, a single vehicle architecture for the emergency service equipment.
Now in its fourth year, aae2011 will take place at the Heritage Motor Centre and Museum at Gaydon, Warickshire on the 27th September and is expected to attract engineers from across the UK and Europe. www.aae-show.co.uk
“This year’s presentation agenda is most impressive,” said David Williams, Director of UMR. “There will be two streams of high quality presentations that explore and discuss how the latest technology is being applied to vehicle design, covering such topics as hybrid vehicle design and infotainment.”
The aae2011 exhibition will feature a broad range of suppliers of automotive electronics solutions. Visiting engineers will be able to investigate an extensive array of technology and services from these market-leading organisations and discuss their specific project needs throughout the day.
The aae2011 event will also exhibit the Tesla electric supercar and The Vetronics Research Centre (VRC) will be exhibiting its Buggy. The “Buggy” vehicle (pictured) is a mobile platform demonstrator of the VRC, incorporating a number of technologies and methodologies such as X-by-Wire on TTP/C. Steer (with Feedback) and Throttle, Brake-by-Wire on TTP/C.
Vectronics is the only Academic Centre of Excellence in the UK conducting research and training in the subject area of Vetronics (Vehicle Electronics), sponsored by the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) and supported by Defence Science Technology Laboratory (DSTL) and Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S).
“This year’s event has a lot of industry support,” said David Williams. “We also have expert presentations from Ford Motor Company, TRW, Ricardo Consulting and NXP; cover a broad range of topics. It’s shaping up to be a very worthwhile event for engineers working in this sector.”
The organisers of aae2011 have announced that delegates at the event will be entered into a prize draw with the chance of winning a VIP package for T op Gear Live. Winners of the prize draw will attend Top Gear Live and have the chance to watch the on-track drama from the exclusive surroundings of the VIP Trackside Enclosure before enjoying a pre-lunch glass of champagne and a three-course buffet in a private suite. After lunch, they will return to the VIP enclosure for the afternoon’s track action, complete with complimentary bar, before being escorted to reserved seats for the 4.00pm Live Action Arena performance. Post show on-stage photo opportunities and a backstage tour are arranged for after the performance, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the Top Gear Live exhibition before the event closes at 8.00pm.
Any vendor wishing to take part in the 2011 event should contact Pauline West, sales manager, at: p.west@umronline.com or call +44 (0)1582 740039.
