Some new microprocessor debugging technologies can transfer data at a rate that would transfer the entire contents of a DVD in 4 seconds. At the other end of the spectrum some debug technologies can run a continuous trace for several days. At the upcoming Embedded Masterclass, German software tools company Lauterbach will be explaining how the recent advances in debug technology work and how they can improve the quality and delivery time of microprocessor based embedded systems.
The Embedded Masterclass takes place near Cambridge 6th May and in Reading 11th May. This event is free to engineers and technical managers. www.embedded-masterclass.com
"We work with clients on about 100 new developments each year," said Barry Lock, UK Manager of Lauterbach. "So often, the progress and success of the project becomes dependent on decisions made at the earliest stages of the project; decisions regarding the processor type and the debugging choices. This presentation will look at common system problems and will provide guidance to ensure future projects run quicker and with less problems."
Lauterbach will also be running live demonstrations of debug and trace capability on both an eight core Mips system running in SMP mode and also trace and code analysis on a PIC32 processor.
"For engineers looking to develop fast systems, Multi-Core and SMP systems are an attractive option," said Barry. "We have been working with some of the world's leading developers in this field and we will be demonstrating our latest multi-core debug technology at the Embedded Masterclass event. Also on the stand we will be demonstrating an Intel Atom system and an ARM multi-core chip from TI. We will be happy to discuss and advise on debug concepts for any embedded processors.”
Over the past 9 years, the Embedded Masterclass has established itself as an important UK event for engineers looking to explore the most recent tools and technologies for the development of embedded systems. The Embedded Masterclass is recognised for the quality of its presentations and workshops, which are technical in content and presented by engineers, for engineers.
"The object of the Embedded Masterclass has always been to provide a 'non-sales' forum," said Richard Blackburn, the event organiser. "A forum where embedded systems engineers can come along and meet a broad range of industry experts from key vendors and learn about what is happening at the leading edge of embedded microprocessor, DSP and FPGA technology."
Over 30 industry vendors have sponsored this year's event. Companies include Lauterbach, IAR Systems, Phaedrus Systems, LDRA, SDC Systems, Wind River, Green Hills Software, MontaVista, QNX, Blue Chip Technology, IPL and Enea.
In addition to eight 40-minute technical presentations on assorted topics, there will be six half-day technical workshops and a vendor exhibition. Attendance at the exhibition, including the series of 40-minute technical presentations, is free to embedded engineers and technology managers. The half-day workshops are £95.00+VAT. Engineers are advised to register early, as space at the event is limited. Registration is on-line at http://www.embedded-masterclass.com |
