The organisers of the UK Embedded Masterclass have announced that the next event is now scheduled for May 6th and 11th 2010, to take place in Cambridge and Reading. http://www.embedded-masterclass.com Once again it will consist of 1/2 day embedded systems technology workshops, a tabletop exhibition and an agenda of presentations. With key sponsorship from Lauterbach, IAR and Phaedrus Systems, the organisers are confident that the event will once again grow on previous years and is in good shape to become the main UK embedded systems event for 2010. Wind River, MontaVista, Parasoft, TTE Systems, Diamond Point, Feabhas and LDRA are also already on board for the event. "We are very pleased to be a key sponsor of the Embedded Masterclass 2010," said Barry Lock, Managing Director of Lauterbach UK debugging tool company. "It is always well organised and well attended and has grown each year. We like the fact that the focus is on the technology and that it’s a relaxed and enjoyable event for vendors and engineers alike"
Workshops at the event will range from an introduction to using Embedded Linux in embedded systems to developing high performance embedded systems using symmetrical multi-processing (SMP). Presentations will include an exploration of the latest in debugging technologies and the development of mission critical systems. An important feature of next year's event will be the absence of Power Point. Presenters will be asked to present using a white board and flip chart. "I'm an engineer, and I'm quite tired of sitting through Power Points," said Richard Blackburn, the organiser. "I'm guessing other engineers feel the same and they'll value this break from the norm. In addition, I think it will help the presenters find a new approach to how they communicate their technology. It's a brave step - but our focus remains on ensuring engineers have a productive and informative day, as we know their time is valuable and this is very much what the event is about." Embedded Masterclass 2010 is free to attend for embedded systems engineers and technology managers.
