ACAL Technology are sampling a new compact industrial Ethernet switch from HARTING, which connects up to 16 ports in a compact 120 x 105.4mm footprint.
Combining one of the smallest footprints with auto-negotiation, auto-polarity and auto-crossing functions for easy plug and play installation, the HARTING eCON 2160-A is designed for high-demand industrial networks. The unmanaged switch operates in store and forward switching mode and integrates a LED on each port for fast network diagnostics. Supporting data rates of 10Mbit/s and 100Mbit/s, the eCON 2160-A features IP30 protection and withstands shock and vibration in accordance with IEC 60 068.
ACAL Technology´s Steve Horn, General Manager Interconnect Marketing, explains, “This switch provides the potential for reducing installation costs by rationalising IT and factory automation networks. Based on field-proven eCON technology, it brings rugged reliability to industrial applications.”
A package height of 25.5mm makes the eCON 2160-A suitable for use in flat control cabinets whilst its mechanical attachment design allows it to be mounted on, or dismounted from, standard 35mm top-hat rails without tools. ACAL Technology´s extensive in-house assembly facilities provide additional options for cable assembly, plus rack and enclosure manufacturing to further simplify installation.
The new switch is the latest introduction to HARTING´s eCON 2000 family, which also offers five-, four- and three-port versions and supports data rates of up to 1000Mbit/s.
Samples of the HARTING 2160-A can be requested from ACAL who provide specialist design support for the development and installation of industrial Ethernet networks.
