Barix AG, a pioneer in IP-based audio, Intercom and control/monitoring devices, today announced that its Instreamer and Exstreamer audio encoding, streaming and decoding devices are now available for purchase through German Monacor International. Thus, Barix expands its existing distribution network (see www.barix.com) with a worldwide acting specialist for electronics products. The status of Monacor International as a global operation will strengthen international distribution for Barix´s Instreamer and Exstreamer devices. Monacor International offers outstanding service and expertise in the audio field as a distributor of security technology, automobile HiFi systems, loudspeaker technology, and stage and DJ technology among other products.
The Instreamer and Exstreamer devices are utilized for various audio-over-IP applications. As opposed to more expensive conventional audio systems, Barix components offer a scalable and affordable solution for audio encoding, transmission, decoding and monitoring. More companies are switching to Barix technology to transport audio over standard network infrastructure for live broadcasting, in-store streaming, audio distribution, paging systems, background music and intercom systems.
The Barix Instreamer converts audio from analog and digital sources in real-time into MP3 or G.711 (VoIP compatible) format and then transmits the data stream via point-to-point or multipoint (Multicast/Broadcast) over the network, Internet or other IP based systems. The devices contain a serial port which allows other products to be controlled through the same Network connection. At the target audio point the Exstreamer converts the data stream back to Audio for playback.
